Dear Friends and Family,
This new blogger will take some getting used to.
Last night, P and I played together.
We play acted dropping off Babo at school and then leaving for work. P was Babo's Mommy. I was Babo's Daddy. We dropped off Babo together and told her we would be back at the end of the day. After hugs and kisses we walked away and then came back to pick her up. P gave Babo lots of hugs and kisses at pick up and told her she loved her and missed her and asked her how her day was.
In an alternate universe, P also played the role of Babo's teacher - holding her and giving her lots of hugs and telling her that her Mommy and Daddy would be back and crooning to her and comforting her.
When I asked her about it, she said her classmate at school was sad. (Her classmate just started school a couple of weeks ago for the first time.)
I think P needed to play out the scenario to help her understand it and explore it and try out different roles and scenarios.
She's also taken to helping potty train her friends (aka stuffed animals).
It's fun playing these different scenes out with her and listening to her talk about what is going on.
Cheers!
