Dear Friends and Family,
If you're ever in Montreal, you MUST, ABSOLUTELY MUST, go to try their pastries. You can find their locations on their website under contact us.
They have a bakery right by my friend's house. And, every morning we get fresh croissants for breakfast. And, on Saturday night we get a dessert for after dinner. The croissants are flaky, buttery, tender morsels of heaven. The ends have that caramel flavor that comes from them cooking a little longer than the middle (since it's skinnier at the end). It's so hard to have just one. They've also got chocolate, which is also fabulous, and bunch we haven't tried: apricot, chocolate with almonds, almonds, filouze, and raisin. I'll be trying the almond when we're out there next summer.
As for the desserts. I love those as well. They've figured out how to make desserts that are light and airy, not heavy or dense. And, they're not overly sweet so you get the creaminess of the custard and the natural sweetness from the berries coming through. Better than any dessert I've had anywhere else. Ever.
Overall rating: 9/10
