Enoteca Roma

Dear Friends and Family,

We went out to dinner Tuesday night to talk through Mr. mouse's new job and stuff in general. Enoteca Roma has seating for about twelve people plus a bar in the winter and they triple their capacity in the summer with outdoor seating. The place was full on a Tuesday night and I can see why.

We started with a bowl of olives with two flights of wine. Mr. mouse got the red wines and I got the sparkling wines. Nice variety, reasonable price, a great way to unwind and chat while we waited for our food. I ordered the linguine with clam sauce and Mr. mouse ordered a pizza. The linguine wasn't really linguine, it was the hollow pasta noodles that do a much better job grabbing the sauce. And, the clam sauce was excellent - rich without being greasy, it was loaded with baby clams in shell. And, the portion size was just right, filling without being overwhelming. Mr. mouse's pizza came in six square slices - Sicilian style. The crust was flaky with nice chew and the toppings went perfectly with it - a spicy sausage and a spicy pepper. The pizza had the right amount of cheese, which is nice. We finished five of the six slices and brought the last one home. Definitely a place to add to our regular rotation. I was eying the polenta that a person got a couple of tables down from us.

Overall rating: 8/10
