Waiting for the Cicadas

Dear Friends and Family,

Although there are many, many species of cicadas with varying life cycles, we here, in Chicago land, have been talking about and bracing for, the "big one." Yes, there are cicadas every year, but apparently, every seventeen years there is a swarm of them. And, this year is the year.

Also, apparently, it needs to be warm enough for a couple of nights for the cicadas to emerge. We've had a really cool/cold spring, and the last few nights were the first warm nights we've had in the season.

So, we're all curiously awaiting the onslaught of the cicada. So far, it's been a non-starter. I can't wait to tie one to some floss and fly it like a kite like we did last Labor Day.

Cheers!

ok now this is just disturbing...in a couple of ways. first i thought that a "swarm of bugs" was some sort of SIGN and that sorta creeps me out. then i have this vision of you "flying" a bug on some floss...it's going to take me most of the day to stop laughing...crazy mouse! looking forward to tomorrow! xoxoxox
