The Indian Garden

Dear Friends and Family,

Just catching up on old reviews.

Indian food is tough on Weight Watchers. One word: ghee. Ghee is bad for you. It's a type of clarified butter that essentially removes the water and the proteins from butter leaving pure, unadulterated saturated fats. No wonder it tastes so good! Needless to say, I avoided going out for Indian food like the plague when I first started Weight Watchers. Now, I'm finding I can add it back in. It's a frequency thing and a portion control thing.

Mr. mouse and I have always liked The Indian Garden. They have a restaurant on Devon in the main Indian neighborhood, but we go to the one in Schaumburg now since it's more convenient. The food is good, solid Indian food. We have some favorites we always get.
  1. Vegetable Samosa - potato stuffed puff pastry
  2. Dal Banjara - yellow lentils
  3. Murg Tikka Masala - chicken
  4. Sag Paneer - creamed spinach
  5. Baingan Bhurtha - eggplant
  6. Bhindi Masala - okra
  7. Naan - bread
  8. Roti - whole wheat bread
  9. Masala Tea - chai

Mmmm...You're making me hungry! #3 is my favorite! We're going out for Indian Food on 2/28 in honor of Kayla since that was one of her favorite cuisines.
